Helene Pruszynski was a 21-year-old intern at KHOW radio with dreams of a career in journalism. Nearly 40 years ago she was kidnapped as she walked hone from the station and was sexually assaulted and murdered. Her body was dumped in Douglas County.
Decades passed with her case in the cold case file. Now, thanks to good police work and DNA evidence, a 62-year-old truck driver in Florida has been arrested. James Curtis Clanton is being held in Douglas County on murder charges.
Pruszynski's sister got the news on Monday morning in a phone call from District Attorney George Brauchler.
