THE DEMS HAVE THEIR TWO ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT And I must say I think the are sort of a letdown. Abuse of power and obstruction are the official charges and I'm not sure the American people really care about either of them. I hope this gives the Democrat base what they want. For all the talk by Democrats about how President Trump's open hatred of the left-leaning media damages the Fourth Estate, where is the outrage that Rep. Schiff used phone tap records to unmask a reporter who had been talking to Rudy Giuliani? Just kidding, there won't be any, but you sure should read this article by reporter John Solomon about how Rep. Schiff weaponized a subpoena to cast aspersion on a reporter. It's funny how the two occasions we KNOW that an elected official used his power to go after someone in the press were both by Democrats. Obama, I'm looking at you.
TO BE CLEAR, WE DIDN'T "BAN" SHOSHANA LEW, WE JUST DIDN'T ASK HER BACK I loved our CDOT segments when Shalin Bhat or Mike Lewis was on. Both men were highly informed about the goings on in CDOT, they knew about projects that were underway and could give listeners great information about the goings on at CDOT. Not so much Shoshana Lew. And now that Chuck Bonniwell is continuing to write about the disaster that is her leadership, I'll be frank. She is terrible on the air. She knows nothing. She gives nothing. So we cancelled the segment. It was radio death. The only reason I bring that up is Chuck mentions the show in this next installment of his now three part series about the disastrous tenure of Lew at CDOT. I sure wish someone who could get the Governor on his show (ROSS I'M LOOKING AT YOU) would ask why he would appoint someone so obviously unqualified for the role to lead CDOT and why in the world he allows her to stay now knowing how bad she is. Chuck also exposes how much of our money is wasted at CDOT through programs designed to rig the system for larger, out of state companies to scoop up all the projects, many of which are in the hundreds of millions. It will make you clearly understand how little Governor Polis cares about our transportation needs in this state. And infuriate you.

I SIMPLY DON'T BUY PART OF THE DOJ IG REPORT People are spinning the report by DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz in a myriad of ways and I guess you can find whatever you want to find in it, depending on your political motivations. But there is one part of this that really sticks in my craw. From Talking Points Memo:
Priestap told the DOJ watchdog that he felt the FBI was “obligated” to investigate, and that “he was not pressured to open the case.”
Priestap added to Horowitz’s team that the FBI decided against giving the Trump campaign a so-called “defensive briefing.” The lack of such a briefing has become a main talking point for the President’s allies, who have used it to suggest that the campaign was “set up” by the Obama administration.
But Priestap told the inspector general that he declined to brief the Trump campaign for fear of compromising the investigation.
“Had we provided a defensive briefing to someone on the Trump campaign, we would have alerted the campaign to what we were looking into, and, if someone on the campaign was engaged with the Russians, he/she would very likely change his/her tactics and/or otherwise seek to cover-up his/her activities, thereby preventing us from finding the truth,” Priestap said.
Seriously? This means that he must have believed that Donald Trump was in contact with the Russians too, because to not AT LEAST brief THE CANDIDATE about the possibility of someone on the campaign working with the Russians defies logic. Unless you believe the candidate is either sympathetic to the Russians or is working with the Russians neither of which was supported by ANY evidence the FBI had at the time. Would they have given the same treatment to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton? I highly doubt it.
AND I DOUBT IT BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT LIES TO US ALL THE TIMEAnd if you didn't read this article in the Washington Post about the lies we were consistently told about the war in Afghanistan you really need to. It's important to recognized this before we commit to wars in faraway places that shouldn't matter to us. I was in favor of toppling the Taliban. But knowing what I know now, I would have recommended bombing them wherever they were and getting the hell out. I hope this changes the way we do things in the future, although I highly doubt it.

EARLY COLLEGE AND DUAL ENROLLMENT PROGRAMS ARE DUMBING DOWN THE STUDENTS THEY WERE DESIGNED TO HELPThis sort of falls under the "can't pass the test, change the test" model of education where, if students fail to meet high standards, the standards are lowered. This is a long article but worth reading because the next generation of engineers and software programmers are getting a substandard education in the name of diversity. And ultimately it will create problems for highly qualified minorities in those fields who didn't need the standards lowered.
THE STRATEGY FOR DEALING WITH OUT OF CONTROL STUDENTS IS TO COMPLETELY DISRUPT LEARNING FOR EVERY OTHER STUDENTand this is not an exaggeration. Read this and it's no wonder that our test scores are flat and our competitiveness worldwide has dropped. The people controlling the schools are idiots. That's my takeaway. We've completely taken any power away from teachers, we ignore them when they say a certain out of control child should not be in the classroom and taken away the tools for administrators to protect good kids. This is nuts. Why is this good enough?

And then she announces that after four years of veganism, she went full carnivore and felt amazing so now her feed is full of angry people talking about how cows feel. Who cares?
