OK BOOMER IS THE NEW INVECTIVE And it's being hurled by Millennials fed up with people with much more experience trying to give them helpful advice. Now Boomers are clapping back. An AARP executive took her shot during an interview with Axios by saying,
"OK,millennials,"Blythreportedly said in the interview. "But we're the people that actually have the money."
She's not wrong. So today I'm going to invite my Boomer listeners and my Millennial listeners to have it out on the air. Consider it an early Festivus Airing of Grievances.
INITIATIVE 76 WANTS TO MAKE IT SO ONLY CITIZENS CAN VOTE IN ELECTIONS and you might think to yourself, but Mandy, only citizens can vote in an election now. And in that thought, you would be wrong. In San Francisco non-citizens are now allowed to vote in local elections. I understand the rationale employed by San Fran and Chicago in making that decision, but I fear it would open things up for a huge amount of fraud. This initiative would simply change the wording of the Colorado Constitution to make sure that ONLY citizens can vote in elections. From Westword:
Proponents of Initiative 76 are gathering signatures to change the part of the Colorado Constitution that pertains to voter qualifications from "every citizen of the United States" to "only a citizen of the United States." Such a change, backers say, will eliminate the possibility that cities in Colorado could open up some of their elections to non-citizen voters.
Michele Austin just turned in the signatures to get this on the ballot and she joins me at 1 today to discuss the why and who behind this move.

A scientist who has a wasting motor neuron disease that is slowly robbing him of his bodies abilities has decided to go full cyborg. As parts break down, he's replacing them with tech. He just underwent an operation to remove his larynx and now speaks with an artificial voice, but he won't choke on his own saliva as he researches other ways to transfer himself into robot form. This is very cool.
A HOMELESS MAN IN LA POURED HOT DIARRHEA OVER A WOMAN'S HEAD And this was AFTER he dragged her out of her car and into the street before the dump. The man was arrested and sent to a facility for mentally ill people before being release shortly thereafter. I'm sure he's learned his lesson and will not do anything else crazy. Sure he did.
IT SEEMS ABC NEWS GOT THE WRONG YOUNG NEWS PRODUCER FIRED When ABC News got embarrasses by the leaked Amy Robach tape complaining about ABC News spiking the Jeffrey Epstein story, they did what every responsible news organization would do. They went on the war path to find the leaker and get them fired. They blamed a young female producer who had left ABC for CBS, but not content that she didn't work for them anymore, they called CBS and GOT HER FIRED. Well now the leaker has spoken and he/she says ABC targeted the WRONG PERSON. The leaker released a statement published by Project Veritas. From the statement:

I sit right here with you all in complete shock. I, like many, are at a loss for words on how this has been handled. Instead of addressing this head-on like the company has in the past, it has spun into a mission of seek-and-destroy. Innocent people that have absolutely nothing to do with this are being hunted down as if we are all a sport. I challenge all of you to actually look inwards and remember why this company engages in journalism. We all hold the First Amendment at the foundation of this company, yet forget its history, its purpose, and its reasoning for even coming into existence to begin with. How lost we are… yearning to be found. I went to Project Veritas for the sole reason that any other media outlet else would have probably shelved this as well. I thank all of them, and James, for seeking truth.

A FORMER ASTROS PITCHES SAYS THEY CHEATED BY STEALING SIGNS And this is the sort of nonsense you expect from say, the New England Patriots but not the Houston Astros. Or should we? The Astros have been accused of cheating numerous times recently, but this latest accusation seems to be the most compelling. So MLB, what you are you going to do?
STOP IT, DISNEY. JUST STOP IT. Disney remade Lady and the Tramp but woke it up. They changed one of my favorite songs, "The Siamese Cat Song" and replaced it with some ragtime number because The Siamese Cat Song is racist or something. Decide for yourself.
A BASEBALL COACH IS SUED FOR DOING WHAT BASEBALL COACHES HAVE DONE FOR A CENTURY. A Junior Varsity baseball coach told a kid to slide. When the kid did, he suffered an injury that went well beyond ending his baseball career. The family sued the coach. It's a very compelling story and you should read it here. Spoiler alert: it won't destroy high school sports after all.
