After basing it's Denver operations out of temporary spaces for more than a year, San Francisco based Slack Technologies now has it's permanent home in a new office near Denver's Union Station. The company says it will start to fill the office by hiring about 70 employees over the next seven months to bring it's total Denver workforce to around 150 employees. It says most of those hires will be local.

"They're highly educated," Ali Rayl, Slack VP of customer experience, said about Colorado's workforce Monday. "They have a lot of skills we're excited to take advantage of and the transportation network is such that we can get talent from all over the front range."

In a difficult hiring market, Rayl said Colorado's "entrepreneurial spirit" was a factor in the company expanding here.

Slack received incentives from the state to open it's office here and can take advantage of further benefits by hiring upwards of 500 employees. The new office has that capacity and Slack says it could grow to be one of the companies larger branches.
