Jamie Giellis---former candidate for Denver Mayor----will have surgery Tuesday for a rare condition. Giellis will have part of her trachea and voice box removed after being diagnosed with tracheal stenosis. Giellis says she had been struggling to breathe or breathing loudly during the past seven months of the campaign. Doctors at UC Health had been trying to treat it with procedures every two to three weeks, but that the intense surgery is what's needed now for a long-term solution. On her Facebook page, Giellis says she expects to make a full recovery after spending two weeks in the hospital.
