Denver Mayor Michael Hancock cruised to re-election and a third and final term Tuesday night. The vote count showed him with an 11 point lead over challenger Jamie Giellis. Giellis called the Mayor to concede the race when it became clear there was no way she could pull out a win. Asked about the nasty nature df the race, Mayor Hancock told KOA Newsradio "It's ( the election) is over. Now it's time to unify Denver."
As votes were being counted, three incumbent members of the Denver City Council appeared to be losing their races. Albus Brooks, Wayne New and Mary Beth Sussman each trailed in their races.
