Adult Suspect in School Shooting Makes First Court Appearance

Devon Erickson appeared in a Douglas County courtroom on Wednesday afternoon. He is the adult suspect in Tuesday's shooting at the STEM School Highlands Ranch that left one student dead and eight others injured. At his initial appearance, Erickson wore a red jail jumpsuit and sat with his lawyers looking down. His mop of hair was colored with magenta and purple streaks. His next court appearance is set for Friday at 1:30. District Attorney George Brauchler is expected to file formal charges at that time. The suspect is being held without bond.

Court records indicate the suspect could be facing as many as 30 counts including first degree murder after deliberation.
