Broncos draft Dalton Risner, Drew Lock in second round

The Broncos drafted OL Dalton Risner and QB Drew Lock back-to-back in the second round of the NFL draft on Friday night.

At 6'5" and 312 lbs, Risner can play multiple positions along the offensive line and can slot in where he is most needed. With the departure of long-time center Matt Paradis, he might just wind up filling that spot. A three-time captain out of Kansas State, Risner is also a Colorado native, hailing from Wiggins..

Lock was heavily linked to the Broncos throughout the draft process, and the team traded up to the #42 pick to select him right after picking Risner. His 6'4", 230 lbs frame is suited to becoming an NFL quarterback and his arm allows him to make all the throws necessary. He draws comparisons to QB Joe Flacco and will have the chance to learn from him with the Broncos.

In the third round, 71st overall, the Broncos went with DL Dre'Mont Jones out of Ohio St. He is 6-3, 281 pounds.

Risner spoke with KOA NewsRadio and Orange & Blue 760.
