In addition, to honor those affected by the Columbine tragedy, KOA NewRadio created The Never Forgotten Fund. The fund was established by through the collection of donations from employees and the public after the tragic events at Columbine High School. The fund provides scholarships in honor and memory of the 13 victims. Each year, twelve graduating high school seniors and one teacher are selected to receive a $5,000 scholarship award.
“It’s a privilege for us to share the stories of those whose lives changed forever on that fateful day,” said Tim Hager, President of iHeartMedia Denver. “Twenty years later, the Never Forgotten Fund — which was established by KOA NewsRadio to honor the memory of the victims — has awarded more than one-million dollars in scholarships for worthy students. ”
