Lakewood police brought in SWAT teams and armored vehicles as they sough to contain a suspect who began firing shots at his home around 8:30 Monday morning. Some of the shot hit nerby homes in the the area surround the 6400 block of Mexico Avenue. Police investigated over the next two hours and things ended a few blocks away after the man crashed his pickup truck through a backyard fence. Montoya had fired on police who returned fire and hit him. During the episode numerous shots were fired but no one appeared to be targeted. During the active shooter incident, three Jeffco schools were placed on lockout.
