C-DOT wants to convince pot users not to drive

The Colorado Department of Transportation is moving into Phase 2 of what it calls "The Cannabis Conversation." It's a traffic safety campaign to limit marijuana impaired driving. In Phase 1 spokesman Sam Cole said they learned that daily users are more likely to drive after they use than occasional users are. Now, in Phase 2 they are moving to an educational campaign to change that behavior. There will be public service advertisements reminding people about the dangers of driving after marijuana use. Cole says some are serious and talk about how you're twice as likely to crash if you're under the influence of marijuana. Others are more light hearted and talk about "back seat stoners". It talks about how someone high belongs in the back seat of the car. C-DOT wil hold public meetings and events in the coming months to help people get involved in identifying solutions in the ongoing campaign.
