Police Watch for speeding on I-25 Frontage Roads at "Gap Project"

Police are increasing speed-limit enforcement on the frontage roads along the I-25 gap project from Plum Creek Parkway to Sky View Lane. According to C-DOT, the move was made with safety in mind.

"We do actually have work being done on the frontage roads themselves," C-DOT Spokesman Bob Wilson said. "It's not just on the I-25 mainline. We also have crews out there working primarily during the day, so we need people to slow down because those roads tend to encourage some speeding at times."

a 45 MPH speed limit has been posted since work began and increased enforcement went into effect Monday.

"Construction is more of a reminder," Wilson said. "People have been speeding along those frontage roads for years when they use it as an alternative to the interstate. Because there's a lot more activity going on along those frontage roads than there was previously, it's more of a reminder to 'please slow down, we're going to be enforcing the speed limit through this area'."
