Anthony Cunningham, a former football player at The University of Colorado and gridiron star at Overland High School in Aurora, was remembered by friends and family. Services were held at Heritage Christian Center. Cunningham was shot and killed during a dispute over a parking space.
Cunningham had 5 daughters and was an Assistant Principal at Hinkley High School. His wife Christie says he was devoted to his family and his students at Hinkley High School. She said he was devoted to his students and promised them she would be their "safe place" now that her husband was gone. She told the students that T.J. was their biggest cheerleader and they should continue to go to classes and gain knowledge every day.
After a short NFL career, Cunningham earned a Masters Degree in teaching.
