Two men practicing for a cross-country ski race are dead following an avalanche near Crested Butte. The Aspen Times reports that Owen Green of Aspen and Michael Goerne of Carbondale were found yesterday by rescue workers. The two men had been reported missing Saturday. Green and Goerne were reportedly practicing for the Grand Traverse, a 40-mile backcountry ski race from Crested Butte to Aspen that takes place next month.
