DPS And Teachers Union Closing In On Possible Deal

Teachers in Denver are on strike for a third day after the latest talks with the school district ended without a deal. The school district said yesterday more teachers are staying out of the classroom. Fifty-eight percent of teachers didn't report to work on Tuesday, slightly more than Monday when the strike started. Negotiators for the teachers' union and Denver Public Schools are scheduled to talk again today and could be closing in on an agreement.
