The Idaho woman who disposed of Kelsey Berreth cell phone plead guilty to a felony count of tampering with evidence in a Teller County Courtroom on Friday.
Krystal Lee Kenney (32) told the court she learned of the Berreth homicide on November 22nd and disposed of her cell phone sometime between November 25th and 26th.
She will not be sentenced until after all court proceedings in the Berreth case. The Class 6 felony carries a possible sentence of up to 3 years in prison. Her plea deal requires Kenney to cooperate with investigators and to testify on behalf of the prosecution. Her cooperation could result in a reduced sentence.
Kenney is expected to testify as early as February 19th, when Patrick Frazee will have a preliminary hearing for allegedly killing his fiance, Kelsey Berreth. She went missing on November 22nd and is presumed dead. Her body has not been recovered.
