Denver Police Mark History with 160th Anniversary Badge

The Denver Police Department is celebrating its 160th anniversary by making a special badge available to officers on the force.

The special badge has a design that incorporates the badge worn by Denver Marshals in 1859. The departments plans a year of events to celebrate the milestone anniversary.

At a ceremony on Friday, Chief Paul Pazen presented the first anniversary badge to the family of fallen officer Celena Hollis. She was killed in the line of duty in 2012. Her mother Dorothy said the family is blessed to have so many people who remember and love her daughter.
