Former Olympic High Jumper Breaks His Back But Just Keeps Going
He had done the move hundreds of times. Maybe thousands. After many of his successful height clearing competitive high jumps, Jamie Nieto did his signature standing back flip. It was as much for the crowd as it was a personal celebratory act. But on this back flip, on this day, his right foot slipped on the turf and he landed on his neck, completely paralyzing this elite athlete. But becoming a quadriplegic is only the beginning of Jamie's story.
