Elevate Denver Bond Program's First Sidewalk

Work has begun to bring sidewalk to Denver neighborhoods that do not have them. As part of the Elevate Denver Bond Program, $30 million dollars will be spent over the next decade to create 30 miles of sidewalk.

The first sidewalk project is in Bear Valley on Dartmouth Avenue between Webster and Newland Streets.  The new sidewalk will provide access to bus stops, sports fields and the playground and tennis courts at Bear Valley Park.

Mayor Hancock and Councilman Kevin Flynn stamped the first panel of sidewalk on Thursday. The Mayor says the city is committed to mobility and needs a safe network of sidewalks to encourage citizens to walk.

The money for sidewalks is part of the massive $937 million Elevate Denver Bond Program approved by city voters in 2017.
