Another Monday, and another season ending injury for the Broncos who lost starting right guard Graham Glasgow to an ankle injury sustained on the final play of the 1st Half of Sunday's win at Dallas.
Glasgow, who's in his 2nd year with the Broncos and 6th year in the league tweeted about the injury Monday afternoon.
In his first 4 seasons in Detroit, Glasgow only missed 4 games due to injury. However, his time in Denver has been a bit of a different story. In 2020 he contracted Covid and missed 3 games. This season, he's battled through minor injuries and had to miss the Ravens game because of a knee issue.
In March of 2020, Glasgow signed a 4-year $44 Million Deal to join the Broncos, with $26 Million guaranteed. If the Broncos chose to move on in 2022, they would still owe the Michigan product $6 Million, and he would count about that same amount in dead money.
Rookie 3rd round pick Quinn Meinerz filled in for Glagsow in the 2nd half against the Cowboys and by all accounts played well. He'll get the first opportunity to start. 2nd-year guard Netane Muti, who's expected to return to practice this week following a positive Covid test, will also push for playing time.
Head Coach Vic Fangio said Monday that he was pleased with how not only Meinerz played, but all of his backup offensive lineman who saw some action, "Meinerz came in and did well, Cam Fleming came in and did well, (Austin) Schlottman came in there for a bit, Calvin (Anderson) was already in there. At some point we had 4 backup offensive linemen in there. I thought they all did well.
