Josh Rosales returns to the show just 9 days after his first appearance to answer questions from other halfway-house residents (after being released from jail/prison.) Josh was sentenced to life in prison for participating in a crime (a drug deal) in which someone was shot and killed. (Josh did not have a firearm and did not shoot the victim, and it was not alleged that he did. But under felony murder laws you can be charged as if you pulled the trigger.) The Denver DA re-examined the case and believed that over 19 years in prison was enough and represented roughly what the sentence would be today for a similar crime. Josh is now out and doing good work with a non-profit to help released criminals reintegrated into society and become productive members of society.
