Just One Thing: Trump is right to be angry
I know that Donald Trump acts like a petulant 8th-grader a lot of the time but when it comes to complaining about his trial in New York State for misstating the values of some of his real estate holdings, he’s right to be angry. I’m confident that there have never been charges like this brought in New York before. Even if he did what the Trump-hating New York AG claims, and he probably did, so what? There is zero evidence that any person or company was harmed by it. AND even if he did it, given the lack of harm, how can a $250 million fine and being put out of business not be an unconstitutionally excessive punishment? There’s a reason that most of these lawsuits are boosting Trump’s popularity. Even those who don’t love Trump know this is all politics.
Furthermore, the judge is an elected Democrat who is exceedingly unlikely, even if he tries (and I don't know if he is trying), to preside over a truly fair proceeding.
This thing is a mess and it's boosting Trump (which annoys me). That said, Dems have long wanted to boost Trump thinking that he can't win. A year ago I also thought he couldn't win in 2024 but a LOT has changed since then and the Dems may well rue the day that they cynically decided to go after Trump in court in order to hurt him politically.

Other Stuff
It's Election Day. Here in Colorado, the major things are Prop HH and school board races. Other states have important elections as well, both for officeholders and for ballot measures.
Some key things to watch:
- Ohio Issue 1 would create a constitutional right in that state to abortion, at least until the fetus reaches "viability." Pro-life folks argue that "viability" will be determined solely by the abortion provider and that this therefore means abortion would be protected up until birth. Also, an abortion can be performed at any time to preserve the health of the mother. The Ohio AG argues that if this passes, it would re-legalize "partial birth" abortions and bar requiring of parental consent when a minor gets an abortion. FINAL-ISSUE-1-ANALYSIS.aspx (ohioattorneygeneral.gov)
- Kentucky governor's race. (This didn't seem like it would be close as the Democratic governor is very popular in this red state/commonwealth, in part because he's perceived to have done a good job in the aftermath of tornadoes and floods there, but AG Daniel Cameron has closed the gap in recent weeks, partly due to strong endorsement by Donald Trump.)
- Mississippi governor's race. (Typically this would be boring but the current Republican governor is damaged by corruption in the state government and the Democratic challenger is pro-life and pro-gun...while also being a big-gov't liberal on economic issues, health care, etc.)
- Control of the Virginia State Senate much of which will be based on how voters feel about Gov Glenn Youngkin's proposed 15-week abortion ban which would require GOP control of the state senate to implement.
- Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice election (which, unusually, includes party affiliation on the ballot for the candidates)

I'm not going to talk about this on the show but this is really twisted stuff. And given how much it seems like the establishment wants to protect LGBT folks from anything that might look bad in public, especially if they would look bad BECAUSE of anything related to sexuality and/or gender identity, it's a little surprising that they would go to such efforts to hide what is disgusting but sadly ordinary leftist hatred of white people and wealthy people.
