The Golden State Warriors simply have too much for the Denver Nuggets.
The Warriors pulled away late in the fourth quarter and beat the Nuggets, 118-113, to take a commanding 3-0 series lead in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Denver led 111-109 when Nikola Jokic hit a jumper with 3:20 remaining. Golden State then reeled off eight straight points and the Nuggets did not score again until Will Barton tipped in a shot with 23.1 seconds to go.
That's a two minute, 57 second drought in the critical stretch of a game the Nuggets had to win.
Nikola Jokic went for 37 points and 18 rebounds. He hit 14-of-22 shots from the field. Aaron Gordon had 18 points and 12 rebounds.
The Nuggets are now in a huge hole and need to win game four to keep the series alive.
Game four between the two teams will be Sunday, April 24 at 1:30 p.m. MDT.
