There is no stopping the Colorado Avalanche these days.
The Avs erupted for three goals in the second period and goalie Pavel Francouz made them stand up in a 3-1 win over the New Jersey Devils on Thursday night at Ball Arena.
Logan O'Connor, Andre Burakovsky and Arturri Lehkonen all scored goals in a span of 11 minutes and 32 seconds. Francouz, getting the start in net with the Avs playing the second game of a back-to-back set, stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced.
The Avs stretched their winning streak to eight games. They have not lost since March 27 when they fell to Minnesota, 3-2 in overtime. Colorado has won 13 of its last 15 games dating back to March 13.
The Avalanche continues its four-game homestand against the Carolina Hurricances on Saturday, April 16 at 7 p.m. MDT.
