The Colorado Avalanche nearly let the game slip away.
But defenseman Cale Makar came up big with the game-winning, power play goal in overtime and the Avs beat the Winnipeg Jets, 5-4, on Friday night in Canada.
Makar's goal came after the Jets rallied with a pair of late scores in the third period.
Mark Scheifele put a puck past Pavel Francouz at 16:25 and then at 19:44, Nikolaj Ehlers tied the game at four.
But Makar's goal at 2:42 of overtime gave Colorado its fifth consecutive win.
Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Andre Burakovsky, Erik Johnson and Nathan MacKinnon also scored for the Avalanche, which is now 23-10-3 on the road.
Colorado plays at Edmonton on Saturday, April 9 at 8 p.m. MDT.
