The Colorado Avalanche keep on rolling
They beat the Pittsburgh Penguins, 6-4, on the road on Tuesday night to secure a home-and-home sweep of the two-game series. The Avs beat the Pens, 3-2, on Saturday at Ball Arena in Denver.
Nathan MacKinnon scored a pair of goals on Tuesday night. J.T. Compher, Josh Manson, Darren Helm and Arturri Lehkonen also scored to help the Avs clinch a playoff spot.
Colorado got defenseman Bo Byram back into the lineup. He had not played since March 1 due to a concussion and it was only his second game since January 10.
The Avs were also without forwards Gabriel Landeskog, Valeri Nuchushkin and Nazem Kadri due to injury or illness.
Goalie Darcy Kuemper made 41 saves.
The Avs three-game road trip continues in Winnipeg on Friday, April 8 at 6 p.m. MDT.
