The Denver Nuggets will toss this game straight into the trash can.
It was not pretty. At all.
The Nuggets returned from a three-game road trip and fell flat in a 124-104 loss to the Boston Celtics on Sunday night at Ball Arena.
The Celtics were the better team -- the much better team -- from the opening tip.
Boston led 33-27 after one quarter and 68-43 at halftime.
"I can't point to one thing we did well," said Nuggets head coach Michael Malone.
After the lackluster first half, Coach Malone started his reserves to begin the third quarter.
The Nuggets shot only 40.2% from the field on 35-of-87 and they hit 14-39 from three-point range (35.9%). The Celtics made 47-of-82 (57.3%) shots from the floor and went 19-40 (47.5%) from long distance.
Nikola Jokic had 23 points and eight rebounds. Aaron Gordon scored 13 points.
The Nuggets will host the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday, March 22 at 8 p.m. MDT.
