The Colorado Rockies have made a splash in free agency.
According to multiple reports, the Rockies and free agent outfielder/infielder Kris Bryant have agreed to a seven-year, $182 million contract.
The deal finalizes the Rockies pursuit the former Cubs and Giants player that goes back to before the lockout began on December 2.
Bryant played 93 games for the Cubs last year before Chicago traded him to San Francisco at the trade deadline. Overall, in 144 games, he hit 25 home runs and drove in 73 runs. He added 32 doubles and two triples and made the All-Star team for the fourth time in his career.
Bryant's bat will certainly solidify the Rockies lineup. Shortstop Trevor Story is expected to leave in free agency and Bryant will be able to help pick up the slack from his likely departure and also the arrival of the designated hitter in the National League.
Bryant, 30, spent the first six years of his career with the Chicago Cubs before his time with the Giants in the second half of last season.
