Make it ten third period comebacks this year for the Colorado Avalanche.
They turned the trick yet again on Tuesday night, rallying to score three goals in the final period to defeat the New York Islanders, 5-3.
After Gabriel Landeskog tied the game at 4:48, Andre Burakovsky put home the go-ahead goal at 12:48 to make it 4-3 Avs.
Erik Johnson added an empty-net goal with 43 seconds remaining.
Not only have the Avs come from behind to win ten times in the third period, they now have 18 comeback wins overall. Both the overall and third period comebacks are tops in the NHL.
The Avalanche will play at Arizona on Thursday, March 3 at 7 p.m. MST.
