CU Dominates Second Half, Beats Cal, 70-62

Using a big second half, the Colorado Buffaloes rallied past the California Golden Bears, 70-62, Thursday night in Berkeley, California.

The Buffs trailed at intermission, 35-28. CU shot only 40% (10-25) from the field while Cal was at 51.7% (15-29).

But Colorado turned the tables as soon as the second half began.

A 14-1 run in the first 4:22 turned the seven-point halftime deficit into a 42-36 lead for CU and the Buffs never looked back.

K.J. Simpson's jumper with 9:07 left pushed the Buffs lead into double figures for the first time, 54-43.

Simpson finished with a career-high 19 points. Jabari Walker was terrific again for Colorado, going for 19 points and he tied his career-high with 15 rebounds, his fifth straight double-double. Evan Battey added 18 points and six rebounds.

The Buffs have won four consecutive games and are 17-9, 9-7 in the Pac-12. Cal slips to 11-16, 4-12.
