The Colorado Avalanche had their chances.
They just could not capitalize.
Tuesday night, the Dallas Stars beat the Avs, 4-1, at Ball Arena. The Avs 19-game streak recording at least one point came to an end.
Colorado had plenty of scoring chances but had trouble getting much past Stars goalie Jake Oettinger, who made 46 saves.
Dallas forward Joe Pavelski picked up a late goal in the first period to give the Stars a 1-0 lead at the first intermission.
They built on that in the second period, with Jason Robertson and Pavelski scoring around Nathan MacKinnon's goal.
The Avs last loss in regulation came at Nashville on December 16. In addition to having their overall point streak snapped, the Avs had their streak of 22 straight home games with at least one point come to an end. The Avs last loss in regulation at home was against Vegas way back on October 26.
The Avs start a four-game road trip at Vegas on Wednesday, February 16 at 8 p.m. MST.
Postgame comments from Avs goalie Pavel Francouz (first to speak), forward Gabriel Landeskog and head coach Jared Bednar.
