Getting off to a fast start is one thing.
Doing what the Denver Nuggets did in the first half is another.
The Nuggets came out scorching hot and scored a season-high 83 points in the first half in a 132-115 win over the New York Knicks on Tuesday at Ball Arena.
In the process, the Nuggets won their ninth straight game against the Knicks and ran their home winning streak against New York to 14 games.
Four different Nuggets scored 20 or more points. Rookie guard Bones Hyland led the way with 22 off the bench, Nikola Jokic had 21 with 11 rebounds and seven assists, and Will Barton and JaMychal Green each scored 20.
Just for good measure, forward Aaron Gordon chipped in 19 points.
The Nuggets led 40-36 after one quarter and then outscored the Knicks 43-24 in the second to take an 83-60 lead at halftime.
The Nuggets start a stretch of four of the next five games and five of the next seven on the road. They'll play at the Boston Celtics on Friday, February 11 at 5:30 p.m. MST.
