The home winning streak had to end at some point for the Colorado Avalanche.
That point came on Tuesday night when the Arizona Coyotes rallied for a 3-2 shootout win and snapped the Avs 18-game home winning streak.
Colorado's last loss at Ball Arena was to Columbus on November 3rd.
Arizona tied the game 2-2 on Lawson Crouse's goal with under a minute to play. And then the Coyotes were able to get the better of Avs goalie Darcy Kuemper in the shootout.
Nazem Kadri and Mikko Rantanen scored goals for the Avs, who now get some time off for the NHL All-Star break.
The Avs will return to action against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday, February 10 at 7 p.m. MST.
