CU Comes Up Short Against #16 USC, 61-58

The game was right there for the taking for the Colorado Buffaloes.

But the 16th-ranked USC Trojans had too much down the stretch and escaped the CU Events Center with a 61-58 win.

The Buffs led 50-45 with 6:40 remaining. But then they went cold and USC closed the game on a 16-8 run and snapped a seven-game losing streak to CU.

Colorado had a tough shooting night, making only 16-of-51 attempts from the field (31.4%). The Buffs made only one of their final nine shots. No Colorado player made more than three field goals.

CU was looking to beat a Top 25 team for the first time this year. The Buffs are now 0-4 against such competition.

Jabari Walker led CU with 13 points and eight rebounds. Evan Battey had 10 points and eight boards.
