Makar's Brilliant OT Goal Gives Avs A 4-3 Win Over Blackhawks

Defenseman Cale Makar keeps scoring goals for the Colorado Avalanche.

His latest was a brilliant move at 2:38 of overtime that gave the Avs a 4-3 road win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Makar skated behind the net out towards the top of the left faceoff circle near the boards. He quickly pivoted and reversed back towards the net, stick-handling forehand-backhand-forehand-backhand before lifting the puck over Chicago goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury and into the top of the net.

Spectacular.

It was Makar's 14th goal of the season and enabled the Avalanche to complete a comeback from a 3-2 deficit at the 2:58 mark of the second period.

Erik Johnson put home a pair of goals, the second coming at 11:44 of the third period which tied the game at three.

Johnson and Alex Newhook each lit the lamp in the first period to get the Avs off to a quick 2-0 start.

Colorado has now won two straight games since resuming play after the holiday break and seven of its last eight games going back to December 6.
