The season for the Colorado Avalanche is officially on hold.
Friday, the NHL said it would pause the season for the Avs due to multiple cases of COVID-19. The league said the same applies for the Calgary Flames and Florida Panthers.
The NHL says for now, four Avs games will be postponed: Against Tampa Bay on Saturday 12/18, at Detroit on Monday 12/20, at BUffalo on Wednesday 12/22 and at Boston on Thursday 12/23.
Thursday night, the Avs were down four players in a 5-2 loss to the Nashville Predators in Nashville. Forward Andre Burakovsky tested positive on Wednesday, forward J.T. Compher on Thursday morning and then goalie Darcy Kuemper and defenseman Cale Makar had positive tests within a couple hours of the start of the game.
