The season is over for the Colorado Buffaloes.
And it ended in a familiar way.
With a loss.
The Utah Utes beat down CU, 28-13, in Colorado's season finale.
Cameron Rising threw two touchdown passes in the second quarter to help the Utes to a 14-6 lead at halftime.
The Buffs only touchdown came on Nikko Reed's 100-yard kickoff return to begin the second half. That brought Colorado to within 14-13.
But Tavion Thomas rushed in from 12 yards out for a score with 12:08 left in the third quarter and Rising threw his third touchdown pass of the game with 6:45 remaining in the quarter to give the Utes a 15-point edge.
The Buffs again struggled on offense, gaining only 148 yards of total offense while Utah piled up 444 yards. Utah outrushed CU 265-64. Thomas finished with 144 yards and 25 carries.
Colorado closes out the season with a 4-8 record, 3-6 in the Pac-12. CU went 0-5 on the road.
