The NBA has suspended Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic one game "for forcefully shoving Miami Heat forward Markieff Morris to the floor from behind" in the final minutes of the Nuggets 113-96 win on Monday night.
After getting a rebound, Jokic dribbled the ball downcourt before taking a hard foul from Morris at midcourt. Jokic then lowered his shoulder into Morris from behind. Both players were ejected from the game.
Morris was fined $50,000 for a Flagrant Foul 2 on the play.
After the game, Nuggets head coach Michael Malone said he did not think Jokic deserved to be suspended.
Clearly, the NBA felt otherwise.
Jokic will miss Wednesday's game against Indiana.
