Former San Diego Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson was found dead in a Florida hotel room on Monday, according to the Hillsborough County (FL) Sheriff's Office.
Jackson was 38.
According to media reports, Jackson's body was found in his room at the Homestead Suites in Brandon, Florida at approximately 11:30 a.m. ET on Monday. Brandon is east of Tampa, which is Jackson's home.
Hotel staff said Jackson checked in on January 11.
Police said there were no signs of trauma.
After prepping at Widefield High School in Colorado Springs, Jackson played at the University of Northern Colorado.
The San Diego Chargers selected him in the second round (61st overall) of the 2005 draft.
Jackson played seven years for the Chargers and another five for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He had 540 receptions for 9,080 yards and 57 touchdowns in his career. He was selected to the Pro Bowl three times.
