RICK GEORGE: Too Early To Know If We'll Have A College Football Season

As states begin the process of reopening, more and more people are starting to think about when sports will return.

In a teleconference on Thursday, University of Colorado Athletic Director Rick George said it's too early to know if college football will return this fall.

"We're looking at a lot of different scenarios," George said. "The Football Oversight Committee, the NCAA, our medical aspects of sports at the NCAA are looking at that. It's too early. There has been too much out there about different scenarios. As we see what happens around our country and in our states and in our community I think there will be a little more clarity brought to that. I don't think I'm in a position to discuss what that could look like because there are multiple scenarios out there."

George said if there is a season, a six-to-eight week preparation period would likely be sufficient.

In the teleconference, George also talked about the pay cuts he and the coaches took, the work done on student-athletes financially benefiting from their names, images and likenesses, the possibility of cutting sports at CU and more.
