Dave Magadan is the team's new hitting coach.
He comes to the Rockies after serving in the same capacity for the Arizona Diamondbacks for the last three seasons.
He has also been the hitting coach for the Padres, Red Sox and Rangers. He was with the Red Sox when they swept the Rockies in the 2007 World Series.
As a player, Magadan had a 16-year career that was spent with seven teams. He was a career .288 hitter.
Tuesday night, Magadan spoke with reporters on a teleconference. He talked about joining the Rockies, how he'll build trust with the players, his approach to hitting and more.
