Turned out, the apple was rotten for the Denver Broncos.
In a forgettable performance, the Broncos lost to the New York Jets, 34-16, Sunday at Met Life Stadium.
Broncos defensive lineman Derek Wolfe recovered a fumble and the Broncos cashed it in. Case Kennum hit Courtland Sutton on an 8-yard touchdown pass and the Broncos were up 7-0 with 9:19 to go in the first quarter.
From the, the Jets scored on touchdown passes of 76 and 35 yards and also had a 77-yard touchdown run to push the halftime lead to 21-10.
The Broncos only other touchdown came on a 42-yard pass from Keenum to Demaryius Thomas with 3:18 remaining.
