It turns out the Colorado Rockies never made it to Milwaukee.

They stayed in Heartbreak City an extra night.

After falling to the St. Louis Cardinals on a walk-off, two-run single on Thursday, the Rockies saw Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Eric Thames hit a walk-off, three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth that gave the Brewers a 5-3 win Friday night at Miller Park.

Trevor Story's solo home run in the fifth and Carlos Gonzalez's two-run shot in the sixth gave the Rockies a 3-1 lead.

Christian Yelich brought Milwaukee to within 3-2 with a solo homer in the bottom of the sixth and it stayed that way until Rockies closer Wade Davis walked two batter in the bottom of the ninth and Thames won it with his home run.

The Rockies will try to snap their three-game losing streak on Saturday when they take on the Brewers in game two of the series.

Coverage starts with Rockies All Access at 3:05 p.m. MDT on KOA NewsRadio 850 AM and 94.1 FM.
