The Colorado Buffaloes women's basketball team did that by beating Marquette, 69-53, Friday night at the CU Events Center.
The Buffs are now 46-2 all-time in home openers and have won 14 in succession.
Mya Hollingshead scored a game-high 22 points and added 10 rebounds. Jaylyn Sherrod added 17 points.
The game was tied 15-15 after one quarter before the Buffs outscored the Golden Eagles 18-10 in the second to lead 33-25 at halftime. Colorado then used a 21-12 fourth quarter to pull away.
CU is now 3-0 and hosts Samford on Monday, November 22. Coverage starts at 5:30 p.m. MST on 630 KHOW.
