The Avs were oh so close to getting to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 20 years.

They can still get there but they will have to wait a couple of days for another opportunity.

The St. Louis Blues rallied from a 3-0 first period deficit and defeated the Avalanche 5-4 in overtime on Tyler Bozak's second goal of the playoffs.

The Avs came out of the gate firing, getting two goals from Nathan MacKinnon and one from Gabriel Landeskog in the first period and it was 3-0 Colorado.

St. Louis buckled down in the second period and finally got on the scoreboard on Vladimir Tarasenko's goal at 14:42. That ignited the Blues, who scored two more goals in the third to tie the game with 4:46 to go.

Then Nathan MacKinnon scored an unreal goal on an incredible individual rush down the ice and flipped the puck past St. Louis goalie Ville Husso to give the Avs a 4-3 lead with 2:46 remaining.

But Robert Thomas answer for the Blues, pushing a rebound past Avs goalie Darcy Kuemper to tie the game with 56 seconds left.

Tyler Bozak won it for the Blues with a shot from the outside that got past Kuemper 3:38 into overtime.
