Broncos General Manager George Paton will continue his trek across the country to attend Ohio State's Pro Day Tuesday. Simultaneously, the Broncos will have a strong scouting presence at Alabama's second pro day, Tuesday as well.
The obvious attraction in Columbus is Quarterback Justin Fields, who was lights out in the College Football Playoff Semi-Final win over Clemson. In addition to Fields, there are a number of linebackers the Broncos could get a look up at close, including Baron Browning and Tuf Borland as well as running back Trey Sermon who was injured early in the National Title Game.
That game, of course was won by the Crimson Tide who are holding their 2nd Pro Day in as many weeks. Last week Broncos Director of College Scoting Brian Stark was in Tuscaloosa alongside other Denver scouts. QB Mac Jones will throw again. Wide Receiver Devonta Smith, who won the Heisman Trophy and fellow top wideout prospect Jaylen Waddle will work out, as will running back Najee Harris, who could be the top back taken in the draft.
To date, Paton has attended North Dakota State's Pro Day, South Carolina's, Penn State's, and BYU. As he said a couple of weeks ago, he would attend as many Pro Days as possible. Since he's already going to be in the Midwest, it wouldn't surprise me to see him at Notre Dame's Pro Day, Wednesday in South Bend.
