4/22/25 Blog: Why X IS The Public Square, Plus Dems Hate Transparency

IF YOU AREN'T ON X.COM YOU AREN'T UP TO SPEED I'm not going to say that X.com is free of trash and filth and garbage and misinformation because it is. But it is also full of videos of government things people would have otherwise missed because we are busy and don't have time to watch every press conference and every meeting. It's the Cliff Notes version of the world, one that requires a deeper dive sometimes before you decide something is true, but if you want a platform that is doing more to hold our elected officials and now news media accountable, no one is doing it like X.com. Let me share with you some of the greatest hits lately. Let's start with a dude with a podcast who I've never heard of or seen before (and probably won't again) where Elizabeth Warren probably thought she was going to get the standard white glove treatment. She was wrong. The host had the nerve to ask her how she covered for the decline of Joe Biden and it went like this.

SHE ACTUALLY LAUGHED WHEN HE ASKED IF SHE THOUGHT HE WAS AS SHARP AS SHE WAS. Where is this question going to be asked and if not for X, would we have even seen it? We most assuredly have missed this exchange between EPA Admin Lee Zeldin and a New York Times reporter who keeps asking him if a judge will agree he's found waste and abuse after writing it was WITHOUT EVIDENCE. Zeldin does not suffer this fool at all.

Did you have time to watch that presser because I didn't. Thanks, X.com. And I for sure would have missed this story about identical twins being interviewed by a reporter about a carjacking that you MUST SEE to believe.

You may have missed that it's "Lesbian Visibility Week" if you weren't on X. How did I know? Because one of the two Governors who are openly gay lesbian posted about it. I responded.

I love this platform even if it is full of stupidity like this trash from the notorious macho idiot Andrew Tate. This is beyond parody.

If you're not on X, you're just not living. Or maybe you ARE living and don't have time to scroll and gather up this magic. I've got you.

AROD BREAKS DOWN THE DRAFT WITH COLORADO'S MORNING NEWS

AND ONLY TWO DAYS UNTIL THE DRAFT!

COLORADO LAWMAKERS WILL OVERRIDE POLIS'S VETO On a bill designed to prevent citizens from holding government accountable. That is the sole reason the Legislature passed a bill giving special class status to "mainstream media" which is generally friendlier to our Democrat overlords. The Governor, who sometimes pretends he is a libertarian, vetoed the bill because it is patently unfair and is just designed to hide from We the People. The sad part about this anti-transparency bill is that Republicans voted for it too. Now the transparency hating Legislators say they will override the veto. When do they go too far? When?

BONDS = DEBT NO MATTER WHAT DENVER SAYS This is a really, really good column by a guy who is calling foul on the recent town halls trying to convince Denver voters to mortgage the city with new bonds. The author writes the truth here:

Bonds are debt. To praise bonds is to praise debt. Bonds are a liability for the city, additional expense for the city. Mayor Johnston, over 10 meetings, gave zero credit to the taxpayers. He did, on the other hand, give credit again and again to the “investors” (takers) who buy the bonds.
The idea that our government relies on investors (takers) makes no sense to begin with considering that our government is for common good, not private profit. Too many business terms are being used when talking about government budgets. Government debt and business debt are two very different forms of debt. Business debt is about leverage and financial return. Government debt is not leverage; it’s just additional expense for the city, and the financial return goes to the investors (takers) – private profit, social cost. (emphasis mine)

He is 100% right. Denver doesn't need more money, they need to spend it more wisely. Period.

SCHOOL LEADERS NEED TO BE CHECKED BY PARENTS The shoe of suspicion, which in Jefferson County Public Schools has always been shoved onto parents, is now firmly on the other foot. After the egregious abuses that lead to a lesbian teacher successfully grooming an underage girl and school officials lying on federal forms to declare her homeless, it's unfortunately time to view JeffCo School employees with the same air of suspicion they've viewed parents for years. Read this column for more. The overarching message is that parents need to be involved in every way possible to hold people accountable when they try to insert themselves into the relationships between parents and students.

STUDENT LOAN COLLECTIONS ARE STARTING BACK UP The Department of Education will begin mandatory collections of student loan repayments for people who are 270 days or more delinquent on such loans. Democrats are of course freaking out that anyone would be asked to pay back a loan they agreed to take out to fund an overpriced education run mostly by Democrats. Look at Liz, she's made it twice on the blog today.

To be clear if you get a notice that your wages are about to be garnishes, you can always sign up for one of the programs that allow you to pay back based on income, or even apply for a loan consolidation or rehab program offered by the government.

SHANNON SHARPE IS ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSAULT a $50 million dollar lawsuit has been filed against former Bronco and current broadcast Shannon Sharpe by a woman who claims she was in a relationship with him for two years. She says the relationship started consensually and turned violent leading to two separate sexual assaults months apart. I hate to be cynical, but there are too many women looking for a payday at this point to take this seriously until something is proven rather than just alleged. We'll see how all this shakes out of if more women come out of the woodwork.

ICE ARRESTED PEOPLE OUTSIDE THE DOUGCO COURTHOUSE And lefties are freaking out and saying that ICE isn't playing by the "rules". You know, the rules that say illegal immigrants can be deported? In the breathless story done by 9News here, they apparently were so interested in listening to activists whine about the arrests to actually ask ICE why the men were detained. Were they violent criminals? Were they a danger to the community? 9News doesn't care, just do what they can to make the Trump admin seem heartless. I don't normally say this, but this story is absolute trash with no redeeming value at all. Why is it even a story?

REP. JOE NEGUSE CAUSED NEEDLESS DOGE PANIC By announcing that DOGE was at NOAA in Boulder. The Democrat is worried that the People's Money would be taken away from the agency as Serious People try to trim the fat in government. But it was a lie and people who love Big Government showed up to protest nothing. Even Phil Weiser showed up to preen about it on social media. Because as Governor, he will do what, exactly, to stop federal government spending decisions? Oh, right. Nothing.

DUKE'S COOPER FLAGG IS GOING PRO And right now is widely expected to be the first pick in the NBA draft. Read more here.

COLORADO DEMS HAVE DUMB IDEA TO REDUCE AUTO INSURANCE Why is it dumb? It charges a $3 fee for every policy to create a department that will allegedly reduce something that currently isn't driving car insurance rates. Our high car insurance rates are because, according to the actual car insurance industry, are because of auto on auto collisions and hail damage. You can read more here, but it's just a chance to grow government again while not doing a single thing to help Coloradans.

WHAT MIGHT THE NEW AREA AROUND BALL ARENA LOOK LIKE? The first plans have been submitted and they look great, but parking is going to suck. How do I know? From the article:

"A higher and better use of the existing surface parking lots over time is key to the development of a vibrant urban experience for the Ball arena site. This will be accomplished by enhancing access to transit, use of a local shuttle system, improved and expanded pedestrian connections, and greater emphasis on the use of parking within a fifteen-minute walking distance of the arena and other venues and future new facilities. The parking requirements will also be accommodated by sharing parking with existing and yet to be built facilities in the area. The combination of these strategies will facilitate the redevelopment of the existing surface lots and simultaneously provide comprehensive accessibility strategy for this new neighborhood and provide more comprehensive options for event and non-event day access and parking requirements," the master plan says.

Doesn't that sound like parking will suck? Obviously the Kroenke's have never tried to take mass transit home after a game.

THE POPE'S FUNERAL IS SATURDAY And President Trump will attend. REad more here.

PARENTS FIGHTING AGAINST CURRICULUM AT THE SUPREME COURT This story is out of Maryland, where a group of parents from all walks of life have sued the Montgomery County Public Schools over sexual identity lessons in public schools. The parents argue that the inclusion of gender identity works interferes in their rights as parent to teach their children such things. This case is a big deal, because if these parents lose it will unleash school boards and their political agendas into schools in a way we've not seen yet. Think about that for minute.

CAN WE TALK ABOUT KRISTI NOEM'S PURSE FOR A MINUTE? The Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem's purse was stolen at a DC restaurant recently. That's bad. But what the heck, Kristi? Apparently she kept her entire life in that purse. A list that includes her driver’s license, medication, apartment keys, passport, DHS access badge, makeup bag, blank checks, and about $3,000 in cash. Some of this makes sense, but why did she have her passport, three grands, and blank checks? Who carries a checkbook with them? Is this a normal woman's purse? I don't have much in mine. The biggest part of this story is it is another failure of the Secret Service, as they let a masked man get close enough to a sitting Secretary that he could steal her purse. What the heck, Secret Service?

A CLIMBER FINDS A BODY And this story is so interesting and just goes to show that a family never gets over a disappearance.

LISTENING TO MUSIC RELEASES OPIOIDS IN YOUR BRAIN Of course it does. But why though? This article discusses.

IS CHAT GPT TOO MUCH OF A SUCKUP? My first thought when reading this story is that people will find ANYTHING to complain about. I stand by that after completing the article about how ChatGPT is programmed to be relentlessly positive and a total sycophant. Okay. I'd like my new AI overlords to be kind but apparently I'm an outlier.

WILL THE BRONCOS TRADE UP? Lots of scuttlebutt about the upcoming NFL draft concerning the Broncos.
