Super Bowl: Please let them both lose
I realize this doesn’t happen very often but I think the best outcome for this year’s Super Bowl is for both teams to lose. I am pleased that my state of Colorado, home to the improving Denver Broncos, offers, by this measure, the most hatred of the Kansas City Chiefs. And yet I will find myself tepidly rooting for the Chiefs (while excitedly rooting for my various prop bets to his) because the Philadelphia Eagles have the worst fans of any team in America, the US version of UK soccer hooligans, and I sure hope they end up crying in their beer.
Let's Reminisce: Record Stores
Without a doubt my favorite record store of all time was (the original location of) Venus Records on 8th Street in Manhattan. I loved going there when I was in college.

Seriously, who thought that "trans rights" were important enough to destroy the hopes and dreams of hundreds of young women? (And I say that as someone who is not "transphobic" or anti-trans in any way.)

This gets to something I touched on yesterday: I want Musk (or any other competent person or combination of competent people) to do everything possible to root out waste, fraud, and abuse in our government spending (even though it will barely move the needle on our overall budget deficit.) But it has to be done legally, and Trump should make sure that the people involved have serious background checks and the proper procedure for the security clearances required for whatever information they would have access to. Strikes me as impossible that that's been done so far. DOGE Hits the Courts - WSJ
