I DON'T THINK THOSE WORDS MEAN WHAT YOU THINK THEY MEAN, GOVERNOR Governor Jared Polis, bless his little heart, is rewriting history right now in his zeal to be POTUS. He was recently pressed about repealing the laws passed by Democrats that limit law enforcement's ability to work with ICE and he blatantly lied about what the law does. Read this from KRDO:
"We have full and strong cooperation on all criminal matters," Polis said. "What's important to recognize is that your local police are your local sheriff's department. They are not arms of the federal government. We don't want them being commandeered to instead of going after crime, enforcing federal immigration statutes."
Except we don't. KRDO asked the Denver Sheriff's Department how they cooperate and they sent this:
"The Denver Sheriff Department (DSD) does not honor detainer requests from ICE, which are not criminal warrants issued by a judge. Pursuant to the Public Safety Enforcement Priorities Act, when the DSD receives a request for notification from ICE the individual in custody is advised of their rights upon receipt and prior to release. DSD faxes ICE notification of release when the individual enters into the release process. It is the responsibility of ICE to arrive at DSD prior to release and take the individual into custody. " - Denver Sheriff's Department
To be clear, our law enforcement doesn't even ask about immigration status, taking the ability to deport people who are here illegally who have been arrested for SOMETHING. I have to hand it to Polis, he used the George Castanza strategy beautifully. It's not a lie if you believe it. Heck, he's even asking for MORE federal agents to come to Colorado to do immigration enforcement as he tries to convince everyone that the state that has laws on the books limiting law enforcement cooperation with ICE isn't a sanctuary state. He really does have a pair on him.
ONE RADIO STATION IS UNDER SERIOUS FIRE And it has to do with a host on the station spreading rumors about the election and Dominion Voting Systems. As Dominion has already received massive settlements over this I find it hard to believe that Salem Media and KNUS are going to skate on this. Randy Corporan is the host in question, and the issue is an interview he did with local Trump supporter Joe Oltmann. Oltmann allegedly defamed Dominion repeatedly and has refused so far to provide any evidence to back up his claims, while Corporan allegedly presented Oltmann as a subject matter expert without questioning the authenticity of Oltmanns's claims, leading to the suit. A move to have it dismissed was denied. This is why you don't say things on the radio with no proof.

THIS IS THE FREAKIEST OF FREAK ACCIDENTS Imagine going to an indoor high school track meet and not making it out alive. That is what happened to a spectator at a track event at UC-Colorado Springs this past weekend. An athlete lost control of the hammer they were tossing for hammer toss, it went through a barricade and hit a spectator and killed them. My heart breaks for the family of that person, but also for the athlete who has to live with this.
ABOUT THOSE COLOMBIAN TARIFFS This case sort of proves my point that Trump sees tariffs as a bludgeon to bring people in line. After Colombia refused two planes full of criminal illegal immigrants, Trump slapped a 25% tariff on Colombian goods and people freaked out that their coffee would be more expensive. Within 37 minutes, Colombia had caved while issuing harsh rhetoric for Trump. This is how he's going to use tariffs.

By the numbers: More than 200 restaurants closed statewide in 2024, per the Colorado Sun. Denver alone accounted for 82% of those losses, according to the Colorado Restaurant Association (CRA).
In the past three years, the city has lost 22% of its restaurants, the Denver Post reports. Some of the most recent closures include longstanding institutions like Fruition, Lao Wang Noodle House and Melita's.
A FIFTH of Denver's restaurants have closed in the past three years. How is this not sounding alarm bells for politicians? And yet, they are working on more ways to make owning a restaurant or other small business more miserable right now. They really don't care as long as they can pat themselves on the back for "helping".
