Jake Warner is Senior Counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom. From ADF's press release yesterday: 303 Creative v. Elenis | ADFMedia.org

To conclude a lawsuit brought by Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys, the state of Colorado has agreed to pay more than $1.5 million in attorneys’ fees for violating the First Amendment rights of graphic artist Lorie Smith and her design studio, 303 Creative. This fee settlement comes after the U.S. Supreme Court’s historic ruling in 303 Creative v. Elenis upholding free speech for all Americans and the district court’s final judgment requiring Colorado officials to comply with the First Amendment and allow Smith to speak consistently with her beliefs.
Colorado officials threatened and censored Smith’s speech for nearly seven years before she was victorious at the high court. They have also relentlessly pursued other Colorado artists—like cake designer Jack Phillips—for years, filing complaints against him for expressing only messages consistent with his religious beliefs.

Campbell's is selling Noosa yogurt which is made in Colorado from milk and cream that comes from Colorado dairies. Noosa is actually a beach town in Australia and this is supposed to be Australian-style yogurt, which I find a bit funny because in Australia they think of this thick sort of yogurt as Greek-style. Interesting to note as a business story that Campbell's acquired Noosa as part of a bigger transaction where the main thing they really wanted was the Rao's brand of pasta sauces, frozen meals, etc. And to give you sense of how enormous Campbells is, Noosa has revenue of $177 million a year and is quite profitable and yet eliminating it from Campbell's operations will have no measurable impact on the company's earnings.

A difficult lawsuit following a terrible event: Club Q victims sue officials for not using red flag law to protect them

I said at the time that the Club Q shooter was the poster child for the Red Flag law. However, if the process played out in a way where the judge could not get any evidence of the risk posed by the shooter because family members refused to be served in order to testify, it's unclear that there is someone other than those family members at fault. I suppose answer that type of question will be the purpose of a trial, unless somehow it gets settled before trial (and I hope it doesn't.) I also don't like the idea of suing the club.

Have you ever thought that you might not want to live for absolutely as long as you can? Why I Hope to Die at 75

I think the article is sort of interesting but definitely not as interesting as the writer probably thinks. I also think he misses a key part of the understanding of life expectancy, which is that generally your total life expectancy (i.e. the age at which statistically you're most likely to expire, though to be clear it's a group average and not about any one person) increases. For example, the remaining life expectancy of a 40-yr-old man is around 36.5 years (to about 76 years old) but if that man actually reaches 76, on average he would expect to live another 10 years. Also note that life expectancy for the nation is dragged down by the unfortunate fact that some groups (Native Americans and blacks, especially young black men due to crime, and, to a lesser degree, Hispanics) have lower life expectancy than other groups (whites and Asians).
